177 K Carnica Ultra Trail
The 177 K – Carnica Ultra Trail takes place in north-eastern Italy, close to the border with Austria. It follows the path of the Traversata Carnica or Karnishe Hohenweg, known as trail 403, starting in San Candido and arriving in Tarvisio.
The race is over a distance of 177km with approximately 11000 meters of height gain and is completed in 4 stages. There is a maximum time of 12 hours per stage, and at the end of each day runners stay in base camps set up by the organization.
Stage 1: From San Candido to Val Visdende – 43.2 km, 2607m
Stage 2: From Val Visdende to Collina di Forni Avoltri – 38.9 km, 2296m
Stage 3: From Collina di Forni Avoltri to Passo Pramollo – 51.8 km, 3253m
Stage 4: From Passo Pramollo to Tarvisio – 50 km, 2154m
The race does not have a competitive character and the registration fee is donated to the charity “Idee di corsa” which enables sports activities for children with physical or cognitive disabilities or children belonging to families in temporary financial difficulty through sports scholarships.
