This race offers 13.1, 26.2 and 39.3 mile runs through paved and unpaved roads on Daufuskie Island. There are no bridges from mainland to Daufuskie Island. Runners will be ferried over by boat from 10 Haig Point Court and, Buckingham Landing in Hilton Head, SC.
An All Inclusive Marathon Experience on a USATF Certified Course! Just Off The Coast Of Hilton Head, SC Lies A Unique Place, Daufuskie Island. Experience This Island By Running The Beautiful Shores Lines And Witnessing The Breath Taking Views. The course follows many of the highlights of Daufuskie Island such as Haig Point Lighthouse, Freeport, Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society, Tabby Circle overlooking the Atlantic and, the famous “Painted Houses” off Driftwood Cottage lane. Consider making this a weekend getaway runcation so that you may have time to explore this lovely, rustic island.
Food and refreshments are provided free for all registered runners. Food is available to spectators for a small fee. Beer will be available for sale. Live music provided throughout the day. Finisher awards and swag to be determined. The beneficiary of 2021 race will be the Daufuskie Island Conservancy.
6:00 am: first ferry from 10 Haig Point ct, Hilton Head, SC 29928 to Daufuskie Island. Ferry reserved for runners only, race staff.
6:30 am: second ferry from 10 Haig Point ct, HH, SC 29928 to Daufuskie Island. Ferry reserved for runners, race staff, Daufuskie Island staff.
7:00 – 8:30 am: packet pickup on Daufuskie Island
7:25 am: National Anthem
7:30 am: start of Triple-Half (39.3 mile) runners
8:25 am: National Anthem
8:30 am: Race start: 26.2 mile runners
9:20 am: National Anthem
9:30 am: Race start: 13.1 mile runners
12:30 pm: Awards ceremony for 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles
4:00 – 4:45 pm: Awards ceremony for 39.3 miles
4:45 pm: Race officially over.
