We will run a 27.2m-50k-27.2m Triple, a grand total of 85.5 miles in three days of trail running, a 13.6m-25k-13.6m Triple for a total of 42.75 miles, and a 6.55-10k-6.55 Triple for a total of 19.3 miles. You can also choose the Pick Three Triple option which allows you to pick your distance for each day. This year the Friday and Sunday 27.2m Marathon Ultra, Heavy Half Marathon, and Quarter Marathon will start and finish in front of the POSTOAK Lodge. There will be seven Aid Stations per loop for the Heavy Half, 27.2M Ultra, 25k, and 50k. The 27.2m Marathon Ultra and 50k will be two loops, the Heavy Half Marathon and 25k are one loop. The Quarter Marathon and 10k are one loop.
The Friday 27.2M Ultra is two loops and goes over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell both loops. The Friday Heavy Half Marathon is one loop and goes over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell. The Friday Quarter Marathon is one loop and goes over the Hill From Hell. The Friday course is the same as Sunday but we run it in reverse.
On Saturday the 10k will be one loop and will go up the Hill From Hell. The 25k is one loop and goes over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell. The 50k will be two loops and will go over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell on each loop.
On Sunday the Quarter Marathon is one loop and goes over the Hill From Hell. The Heavy Half Marathon will be one loop and goes over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell. The 27.2m Ultra Marathon is two loops and goes over Holmes Peak and the Hill From Hell. This will make each of the three days very different.
If you want the easiest race we offer, run the Quarter. If you want the most challenging but most scenic loop, run the 25k or 50k. This loop offers the best scenery in this part of the country.
At The POSTOAK Lodge Challenge our philosophy is simple, let’s run and have fun, it is a weekend party for all involved. We have the best Aid Station Sponsors you will find anywhere and they make sure you are taken care of and that you are having fun. Our motto is “You are not only paying a registration fee, you are paying a cover charge.”
If you are not quite ready for the Triple, you can always run a Double. All you have to do is run one race on Friday or Saturday and another race on Saturday or Sunday. You can also do a Friday and Sunday Double. That gives a runner twenty seven ways to double. The most popular this year was the 50K / 27.2. That’s 58.269 miles of rugged trail running in two days. The best part about the event is that everyone has so much fun. Even runners who could not compete on the second or third day were smiling and having a good time cheering on their friends.
