Rio Frio Ice Fest
Distance: 5K – Description:
The entire Rio Frio 5K on Ice course is run on the frozen Rio Grande River, assuming conditions allow. The views of Mt. Blanca and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range are astonishing. It’s such a unique race that Runner’s World Magazine featured it as an “editors pick” in 2015. If unsafe or undesirable conditions on the river exist, there is an alternate race course planned. The course is well-marked, including areas to stay away from. Don’t miss this uniquely Alamosa experience!
