Scenic Trail

January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am UTC+0

Leaving from the village of Tesserete in the Italian speaking canton of Ticino, Switzerland, this race was designed for a fast but challenging run. The 27 km ‘skyrunning’ route begins with several steep ascents, up to Monte Bar and then to the highest point along the trail, Gazzirola, before dropping towards San Lucio and Bogno where the finish line awaits. The 54 km runners will continue on to enjoy panoramic views; following amphitheater ridges, the unfolding landscape and trail are visible before and behind. On the second day of this event, there is a vertical kilometer – 4.5km D + 880 and 1,000 meters of elevation – known as the Vertical della Croce. New for this year is the 167km trail, the race organisers are calling the “M100 hyper track”. This epic 100-mile event clocks up almost 12000m of elevation gain which promises to “break your legs and destroy your will”.
